Counselling and Psychotherapy

I am a qualified and highly experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, welcoming clients to my practice in Markyate, Hertfordshire. My approach is grounded in empathy, genuine care, and curiosity, all of which underpin my extensive professional training and shape the support I offer.

Alongside my private practice, I work with an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), delivering short-term counselling both in-person and remotely to NHS personnel as well as employees from various public and private organisations.

My particular area of expertise is psychodynamic psychotherapy, which facilitates exploration and understanding of longstanding behavioural patterns that may contribute to current challenges. Together, we can examine the unconscious influences shaping your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, fostering meaningful change, personal growth, and self-acceptance.
Additionally, I am trained in 'The Rewind' technique - a structured intervention aimed at alleviating or eliminating distressing memories, such as the flashbacks and nightmares associated with trauma. This method does not require detailed discussion of traumatic experiences and often results in significant improvement within just two or three sessions for single-event traumas.

I tailor therapy to address both immediate concerns and deeper, longstanding issues. Through counselling and psychotherapy, clients are offered a secure, non-judgemental, and supportive environment to reflect and gain insight into complex thoughts and feelings.

As a registered member of the BACP, I adhere to their ethical guidelines, ensuring high standards of professional practice. I am committed to ongoing professional development in order to maintain current knowledge and best practices in the field.
